The Prairie Region would like to extend a cordial invitation to you to attend the 2013 HKVCA National Convention.  This promises to be a most memorable four days for you and your entire family!  We encourage you to bring your children and grandchildren for the Convention, and build it into an enjoyable holiday at the same time.  Manitoba offers an outstanding array of tourism activities, museums, and cultural events.  Our Convention happens to occur during one of Manitoba's premier events, Folklorama.  We hope you will plan a few extra days before or after the Convention to enjoy some of our Tourism.

We will get a chance to catch up with old comrades and friends, and also make new acquaintances at a Reception hosted by The Honourable Phillip S. Lee, Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba. This Reception will take place at Government House in Winnipeg.  The Reception is by "Invitation only".  Please note that space is limited, and priority will be given to Veterans, Widows, and early registrants.

Friday, August 16th

Friday Morning, be sure to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the Royal C Banquet Room.  Keep up-to-date with what your Association has been doing, and what is planned for the coming year!

Enjoy lunch on your own and then a free afternoon to perhaps go shopping to Polo Park Shopping Centre right across the street.  Be sure to visit our extensive Memorabilia Collection in the Windsor Room.  Don't forget to drop by the Hanover Room (Hospitality) for complimentary drinks and snacks.

Friday Evening, be ready for a fun-filled night at the Manitoba Hydro Place.  Buses will transport delegates to the new Hydro Place for cocktails and a tasty Manitoba theme dinner.  After dinner there will be entertainment and tours of the spectacular, award-winning Manitoba Hydro building.  Buses will return delegates to the Ramada Viscount Gort Hotel.

Saturday, August 17th

Brookside Cemetery Entrance Gate

Saturday Morning, delegates will board buses for the Bardal Reception Centre for the HKVCA Memorial Service.  We will commemorate the sacrifices made by the members of C Force, and delegates and dignitaries will take part in the wreath laying ceremony.  After the ceremony we will enjoy lunch in the Bardal Reception Centre.

Delegates will then have the opportunity to visit Brookside Cemetery and the "Field of Honour".  Brookside is the largest and oldest military internment site in Canada!  Buses will return delegates to the Ramada Viscount Gort Hotel where you may visit the Memorabilia Room and the Hospitality Room.

 

Saturday Evening, enjoy the Grand Banquet in the main floor Banquet Room.  Join us for cocktails and an amazing dinner prepared by the chefs of the Ramada Viscount Gort.  Following dinner there will be entertainment, draws, and dancing into the early hours.  Kick back and have an incredible evening!

 

Sunday, August 18th

Sunday Morning is the time to say goodbye at our Farewell Breakfast in the Viscount Room!  One last chance to say so long for now to new and old friends!  Or time to begin your extended vacation in our fantastic province.  So much to see and do, don't leave too soon!

 

Memorabilia Room
