Does anyone know what ANC; TC mean?
Left: Sergeant Major Clifford Royea and brother Jim Royer. (Submitted by Livia Royea, Granddaughter) "Clifford's name is spelled Royea, because his name was misspelled when he joined the army, so he kept it that way"
Picture of Cliff many years before the war when he was a member of the Bury 7/11 Hussars, who later merged with the Quebec city Royal Rifles before the war. He joined the army when he was 15, because his attestation of non-permanent active militia of Canada says he was born a year earlier than he was. That is why he looks like a kid. Also notice that the uniform is different than that of the Royal Rifles.
Regimental Mascot
James Royer is the first one, bottom row on left. Sgt. Gander (the dog) is two over from him
