The idea of the sons and daughters forming a group to assist the Hong Kong Veterans Association (HKVA) first surfaced at the 1993 National Convention in Dorval QC. This idea was based on the concern that HKVA members were beginning to struggle due to advancing age and increasing health problems, having less energy to fulfill their association's aims. Our mission is to honour the sacrifices and stories of the Canadian soldiers who served in the Defence of Hong Kong, and to preserve their legacy for future generations. We are committed to achieving this through heart-led actions such as: commemorative events, public storytelling via traditional and social media, the placement of commemorative plaques, and the creation and sponsorship of educational materials and initiatives.
