will visit the Veteran in the hospital or his place of
residence. If a visit is not possible, the RRwill telephone the Veteran or his wife or an appropriate
relative.
The RR will advise the Regional Director of the
Veteran’s condition (by email if possible, with a copy to the
National Executive).
The RR will send an email bulletin to region membership with
email (if applicable) and notification placed in the Associations
newsletters to advise of the illness.
Death
The Regional Secretary will
send a sympathy card to the appropriate family member, be it wife,
widow, son or daughter, indicating that the message is directed to
all members of the family.
If the family has published (i.e., via newspaper
obituary, funeral home, etc.), their request for a donation to be
made to the HKVCA, the Treasurer will:
With the permission of the family, provide
donation forms to the funeral home. Members of the HKVCA
Executive attending the funeral or remembrance service will
also take forms with them so that if requested the forms
would be available. A
sample form is attached.
Send an acknowledgement letter to donors, along with an
Income Tax Receipt. A
sample letter is attached.
After a reasonable length of time after the death (to ensure
all donations have been received), send a letter to the family
representative, listing all donors with their addresses. A
sample letter is attached.
The Regional Director and Region Board of Directors will
attend the funeral if possible. If at least one of these cannot
attend, they will attempt to enlist an alternate to represent the
HKVCA.

HKVCA President and HKVCA-VAC Liaison (currently Derrill Henderson)
by email.
The Regional Director will ask the family whether they
wish to use the Hong Kong flag (or Colour Party if applicable) in
